Lack of skills and courage to talk about what really matters
It is challenging to address emotions and relations in a here and now business context. Often people find it hard to or do not know how to do it in a constructive way.
Therefore tensions and disagreements are often avoided and neglected, and teams let ‘the elephant’ stay in the room, even though it clearly gets in the way for efficient team-performance – and hence the result.
People lack structures/processes/methods that can help them do that – and they lack the opportunity to practice tuning in with and action on emotions as data.
The questions is:
How do we learn to address inefficient routines and inefficient team behaviour?
